PBJ’s - NW Portland

Three weeks back in Portland; on my own for the first time in nearly 11 years.  What will I do?  I will eat! I will travel! I will waffle! I will tackle those things I’ve never quite done before as this time is an extraordinary gift, AND I will use many exclamation points! Maybe. Maybe not!

One of my many endeavors is to visit a different food cart each week.  First stop: PBJ’s Grilled Peanut Butter & Jelly, located in NW Portland at 23rd and Kearney.

Of course I had to get the most unusual thing on the menu, which was the Spicy Thai: Challah bread, orange marmalade, sriracha, fresh basil, curry, and PBJ’s peanut butter.

Sound gross?  Well, love, it is not. It was sensational.  It was…sweet, savory, spicy, creamy, crunchy, buttery, squishy…almost wrong but oh so right.  Yep.  Definitely liked it but I couldn’t eat one every day.
Ooo—and this weekend: waffled meatballs and the 1st of many solo trips to the coast to gaze upon my beloved ocean & squeeze sand between my not often seen toes. Mmm.
